PACO:
As i was reading this blog, i feel goose pimples all over me as one of the 1st responders on the 13th of feb 1981 as a 2Lt then CO of the Charlie Coy, 4IB, IID, PA based in the coastal town of Maimbung Sulu who took over Pata Likud w/c was earlier cleared By FRU led by Onay & Elbon (+)…… RIP comrades in arms…… too painful to remember but life goes on LIFE IS GOOD,,,,
Sacrifice and fall ………….. for the security of the country and the citizenry… !!!!!
Luis Ares:
They died as warriors. They deserve to be honored and respected always. May you all rest in peace!
Ricardo C Morales:
Treachery and stupidity played a major role in this incident. The battalion commander was a dentist, the command group was taken hostage by their SPMF allies, corerced to order the men to assemble and lay down their arms. The rest was easy.
Johnrey Tomo:
halos nalimutan na ito ng karamihan sirs, I shared this story sa mga kabayan natin na medyo bata bata pa but not one of them even remembered or knew about this incident. how can we easily forget this kind of sacrifices and heroism? buti pa si lolong lagi nasa headlines, worse lalagyan pa ng museum para di malkalimutan. ang masakit sa culture natin, hindi hatred ang sakit natin kundi indifference, na mas masakit. RIP our heroes!!!
Alfonso V Alvarez: Sir Jess: shared on my wall. Thank you, sir!
Rene Pamintuan
Amen. May their souls find rest in God.
Nic Buyuccan: War is terrible, some men must rise up to it. Rest in peace warriors.
Alex Yano: we remember them all…in our prayers!
Alain Osano:
Amen. I have read the article by you sir Jess in the CAVALIER. A few of us have the worst of how we as human beings can be so brutal. Your courage was so admirable in going over what happenned so long ago that many would have chosen to forget. A few of us have been in circumstances like you’ve been, we pray that these few would eventually find peace in their hearts.
Dadi G Enriquez:
thank you, sir Jess, for taking us back in time with your vivid recall of what transpired that fateful day. God bless you always. i pray for the eternal repose of our fallen comrades.
Roy Colinares:
Sir, if others have forgotten those who fell on Pata Is., rest assured the locals there & most Tabak Troopers will not, as they still talk abt it. I was asgd at Maimbung-Indanan, Jolo in 2004 & Pata Is. is clearly seen fm our Bn Hq… & each retelling of the Pata Is. story by the men (to include MNLF Rebel returnees of the Bn) is remembered w/ awe by green recruits & oldtimers as well.
Cha San:
How is Pata island now? Are they still inhabiting it? Do they still have teeth.
Benjamin A Samonte:
There has been too much bloodbath along the trail of this nation’s march to peace and tranquility…it is still “oozing” and seem endless. And I wonder why the living just stand by doing not much to stop it…
Gus Atencia:
I agree with squadmate Nur. Pinoys just need to be in some banging every time. Otherwise, we loose our edge.
Jejie Ibones:
The veterans of these campaigns have witnessed the extrame valor and sacrifices of our troops and units, pagkatapos may mga politiko o mga civilians na akala mo sinong magaling na mangangantyaw as if wala ng ginawang matino ang ating kasundaluhan, yon ang nakakainit ng ulo.
Lei Yo
May their souls rest in peace sir! they died so that others may live..LETS GO ARMY! whoah!
Alejandro Hornido Estomo:

The bravery of our soldiers and forgotten in the dustbin of history by their countrymen…
Matio Demaisip:
Who cares or cry foul when soldiers are massacred?
Ellain Adarna:
I read it til the end, and it’s worth the read. To our fallen soldiers, “A snappy salute!”
