Reaction from Mario Marasigan

I will not forget that moment after the massacre. The 1st platoon, Bravo Btry, 1HB, 1AR, 1ID, PA was sent to Pata Island for Artillery Support to 10th Infantry Battalion, We stayed there for 6 months. Being in that place seemingly hard and lonely with scarcity of food and water supply. We just only take a bath when the rain comes. Our viand were still the same from morning to afternoon, it’s the sardines with either leaves of kangkong or kamote tops. We’re the only people there seeing each other everyday. Life of a soldier is really very hard. Sometimes I can’t control myself to think of my life, my family and sometimes I didn’t notice that my tears fell on my cheeks. At that time, no available communication with your love ones. No cellular phone nor letters. Thank God that I’m still alive and happily retired from the military service together with my family of course. It’s really blessings from God Almighty. Thank you LORD! Mario Marasigan
